I’ve been blogging for more than 4 years,
so posted quite a few blogs during that time. I’ve also had the good fortune to use my skills to help introduce many people to blogging and help them set up their own sites.
Blogging is not difficult. Setting up a wordpress site is not difficult either. So, why are some people not successful with their blogs, while others are very successful. The big deal about blogging (and the hard, hard, hard thing) is to do it consistently.
Even though I consider myself a successful blogger, you may notice the date stamp on my last post–2 months ago! Posting a blog every 2 months or so will not lead to having a successful blog. But, it happens to everyone–our priorities change, we get busy, time slips away and then, without realizing it, a couple of months or more has gone by and our blog starts to gather dust.
In my case, I’ve been extremely busy with my new business. It’s not an excuse, in fact, I should have been making regular posts about why I was so busy! Great things have been happening with the new business and there are many things to be shared.
I’ll pick up where I left off and make a new commitment to post once a week. All I can do is all I can do. If you have a blog that has been gathering dust, join me and decide that you will take 30 minutes per week to keep your blog updated. Put it on your calendar and make it so.
